In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, got married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT family traces its origins back to the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot winery is a family domain that works on 20 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today, the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are currently responsible for the vinification. Florence received her training in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to their training, they both completed many internships, both at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998.

The vineyard was planted in 1989 and is located on a limestone plateau which gives it the typical minerality, but also for an ideal water management in both wet and dry periods. The Domaine Lamy-Pillot Chassagne Montrachet Chardonnay is a very elegant mineral white wine naturally made from 100% Chardonnay. Complex wine in which everything comes together, beautiful ripe fruit, white flowers, tones of almond, beautiful acids and a long finish. The style of winemaking is characterized by Lamy-Pillot in all their wines in a measured and supportive way of using wood. The mineral tones of the beautiful terroir are not overgrown by excessive use of wood and the fruit comes out beautifully in all cuvées.

This real family domain has more than 20 hectares of vineyards and with this they make a wide range of both white and red wines. Lamy-Pillot wines are characterized by being very rich wines with a luscious texture. In the nose floral tones, ripe fruit and a refined touch of wood. The same aromas are reflected in the taste. The fine acidity gives the whole extra complexity. The wines of Domaine Lamy-Pillot now also belong to the very scarce Bourgognes with high ratings from the international wine press year-in-year-out.
