Description
The Trinite Estate Acaibo by Gonzague and Claire Lurton is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. In the glass, the 2016 Trinite Estate Acaibo is medium to deep ruby purple with in the nose notes of warm black cherries and berries, cedar and bitter chocolate, exotic spices and a stylish and elegant frame with new oak spice. In the mouth the wine is medium to full bodied, minerally with a great fruit core, firm, pleasantly chewy tannins and seamless freshness. The finish is long and layered. Very (burgundy) classic!
Gonzague and Claire Lurton own several properties in Bordeaux, including Durfort Vivens, Ferrière, Haut-Bages Liberal and La Gurgue. In 2012, they acquired a vineyard in Sonoma County, with the goal of producing Bordeaux-inspired white and red wines. In 2014 they built a small winery and extracted some of the original vines to make it even more authentic. French-born vigneron Nicolas Vonderheyden oversees vineyard management and winemaking. These are classically styled, understated wines that represent great value.

Made up of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot, the 2016 Trinite Estate Acaibo has a medium to deep ruby-purple color and violet, chocolate box, warm black cherries, cedar and warm blackcurrants on the nose with nuances of beef drippings, cast-iron pan, exotic spices and a classy frame of new oak spice—this is perfumed and minerally without lacking any fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it has a good core of flavor layers, with firm, gently chewy tannins, integrated freshness and a long finish.
Gonzague and Claire Lurton own several properties in Bordeaux, including Durfort Vivens, Ferrière, Haut-Bages Liberal and La Gurgue. In 2012, they acquired a vineyard in Sonoma County, with the aim of producing Bordeaux-inspired white and red blends. In 2014 they built a small winery and ripped out some of the original vines, planted in 1998, to plant more Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. French-born vigneron Nicolas Vonderheyden oversees management of the vineyards and winemaking. These are classically styled, restrained wines that represent great value.
