Description
History of Weingut Heinrich and the Mittelburgenland
Weingut Heinrich is one of the leading producers in Mittelburgenland, Austria. The family-run business focuses on Blaufränkisch, with a focus on organic cultivation and optimal ripening. The vineyards are situated on chalky and loamy soils, with warm days and cool nights that allow the grapes to ripen into wines with intense color, clear structure, and refined aromas. The terroir and microclimate make this one of the most suitable areas for high-quality Blaufränkisch.
About the 2013 Heinrich Pannobile
The 2013 Pannobile is Weingut Heinrich's flagship wine, displaying both power and elegance. It's a concentrated Blaufränkisch that already offers enjoyment while also possessing great potential for further aging. As a natural product, wine is constantly evolving, making the bottle experience exciting and surprising.
Grapes, harvest and vinification of the 2013 Pannobile
This wine is made from Blaufränkisch grapes from the finest plots. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand at the optimal ripening point. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, a longer maceration process follows, allowing the full extraction of color, aroma, and tannins. Maturation takes place in large oak barrels and, in some cases, new wooden barrels for 18 to 24 months. The result is a concentrated, elegant wine with a perfect interplay of fruit, spices, and subtle oak notes.
Color, aroma and taste of the 2013 Pannobile
The 2013 Heinrich Pannobile has a deep ruby red color with purple hues. The nose is dominated by dark berries, blackberries, cherries, and a hint of pepper and spice. The palate is powerful and rich, with fine yet firm tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the wine balanced. The long finish leaves mineral and spicy notes, ensuring the wine remains complex and versatile. As with any wine, it's always fascinating to watch how it develops in the bottle.
Serving tips and storage potential
The 2013 Heinrich Pannobile is ready to drink now. Serve at 16-18°C and decant for 30-60 minutes for best results. Each bottle has its own unique character, making it a pleasure to see how the wine develops over time.
