2010 Champagne Thiénot La Vigne Aux Gamins Magnum

The Champagne La Vigne Aux Gamins reveals a charming, fresh bouquet with aromas of pastry, tree fruits, honey and lemon oil. Medium to full-bodied, structured and rich, it envelops the open profile of the vintage, tempering the concentrated and sweet aftertaste. This special release is made from 100% Chardonnay which makes it a Blanc des Blancs. No malolactic fermentation, which is unusual for this type of wine. Champagne Thiénot wants to let the terroir speak as much as possible in this cuvée. The wine comes from a top parcel in Avize (Côte des Blancs) and the grapes were planted 60 years ago by the Thienot family. The terroir of limestone with chalk in the soil gives the wine finesse.

The cru owes its name to Alain Thienot Stanislas and Garance who played on the terroir when they were young. Low production with between 2500 and 3000 bottles, only in the years that are worth it. Thanks to the great care given to the grapes and the spraying method that they have been using for 10 years and of which Thiénot were forerunners, their wines contain very little sulphate.
