The grapes for the alcohol-free Sparkling WIN Verdejo come from specially selected vineyards where only grapes are grown with the aim of making alcohol-free wines. Gruppo Matarromera has spent no less than 10 years developing alcohol-free wines that meet the quality that Matarromera is known for.

This alcohol-free sparkling wine contains only 23 kcal per 100 ml. Fresh notes of citrus, green apple and fennel on the nose. In the mouth, the sparkling verdejo is juicy with a fine mousse and a fresh aftertaste. We recommend drinking this wine at a temperature between 4-6ºC. Very nice as an aperitif or in combination with salads and fish.

The grapes are fermented and aged according to the traditional winemaking method. During this traditional 'vinification', the grapes are crushed very carefully and normal fermentation and ripening take place. So real wine is made and the wine is only dealcoholized just before bottling. The best process for de-alcoholization is according to the so-called SSC technology (Spinning Cone Column). It is also the most expensive process, but SSC does not cause any loss of aroma or taste. The alcoholic wine is poured into a kind of column of funnels. Through the funnels, the wine trickles down one funnel at a time, while the alcohol rises to the top where it is collected and separated from the wine. This process is repeated a number of times until all the alcohol has disappeared from the wine and the alcohol-free wine remains at the bottom.

Following the winemaking tradition of his Castilian ancestors, Carlos Moro made his dream come true, and in 1988 he founded the Matarromera bodega in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid) with a clear goal: to prepare quality wines with the most advanced technology and the observe traditional cooking methods. The biggest challenge that Carlos Moro faced was his choice of new barrels for maturing his wines, an initiative that was new in this region at the time. Another key to Matarromera's immediate success was its excellent vineyards, right in the "golden mile" of Ribera del Duero. Today, a quarter of a century later, Carlos Moro continues to design projects, and continues to prepare increasingly sophisticated wines. Matarromera's focus on quality wines stems from the vineyard itself. Thanks to the work started by Carlos Moro's ancestors, loving care of the vineyard has been a constant. Not an artifice in the Bodega but a good wine comes from a top vineyard.

You can see a beautiful impression of this winery in this video .

At Grupo Matarromero, sustainability is of paramount importance and the Matarromera Group was chosen in 2007 by IESE [Institute of Higher Business Studies] as the most environmentally friendly organization in Spain. The winery currently generates more energy than it consumes. Each bodega of the Matarromera group is a sustainable building and is designed to utilize natural lighting, provide optimal insulation and effectively use both rainwater and wastewater.

Recently, the Spanish winery has launched a new cosmetic line called Esdor. The products of this line use the antioxidant-rich grape skins that remain after wine making. According to the company, the red grape skins are a source of polyphenols. These are said to be effective against aging and reducing the elasticity of the skin. They keep the skin soft and supple. The cosmetic line includes nourishing creams, moisturizing creams and eye contour products. Natural ingredients are used for cosmetics.
