St. Laurent

St. Laurent is also the father of the Zweigelt but also related to the Blaufrankisch (or Pinot Noir). Compared to this aromatic Austrian grape, it has fewer tannins and much more color. St. Laurent produces wines that are a deep dark purple with an intoxicating scent of cherries, strawberries, and fresh herbs. The grape originates from France, probably from Alsace, and ended up in Austria via Germany in the 19th century. St. Laurent is also written as Saint Laurent or in the German language as Sankt Laurent
