2023 Russolo DUE Pinot Grigio

The Pinot Grigio grape variety, also called Grauburgunder or Pinot Gris, is currently the most widely cultivated white wine variety in Alto Adige/Friuli. The areas subject to Mediterranean influences around Magrè and Salorno have predominantly calcareous soils with a high sand and gravel content and are perfect for cultivating this grape variety of the noble Pinot family.

Russolo wines are characterized by a ripeness and digestibility that is appreciated worldwide. Special, partly due to the diversity in grapes and taste. Rino Russolo makes wines northeast of Venice in the Friuli plain, which is called Grave. The wines are very popular (nowadays also in Italy itself, supported by high ratings in the Gambero Rosso), so that only a limited amount comes to the Netherlands.

The Russolo DUE Pinot Grigio is light yellow. In the nose white and some yellow fruit and a light smokiness. In the mouth a soft attack, with nice juice and sufficient freshness. The wine has a full, rich taste. Very juicy but also very fresh and good acids.

Beautiful wine with starters with (white) meat or fish and delicious with dishes with shellfish, sea fish, pâtés and terrines, poultry, white meat and mushrooms.
