The Dolcetto grapes come from a vineyard located in the municipality of Alba at an altitude of 225 meters. The vineyard was planted in 1970 with a very low plant density. With Montaribaldi, the quality comes from the vineyard and is not made with artificiality in the winery. The Dolcetto grapes are the first grapes to be harvested. Normally the harvest takes place in the first half of September. In the wine cellar the grapes are stripped of their stems and pressed. The grapes are then macerated for five days at a temperature of maximum 25°C. Then in stainless steel wine barrels for lactic acid fermentation. The wine remains on its lees (Sur Lie) for 3-4 months after which after a light filtering the wine is bottled and then remains for a few more months in the Montaribaldi cellars before being released.

This Montaribaldi Dolcetto d'Alba DOC Vagnona is a young red wine, very fruity. In the glass, this fresh, supple, light wine has a beautiful ruby red color with a reflection of violet. The fruity scent contains hints of cherry and raspberry. Good tannin structure, nice acidity and a typical bitterness and a hint of almond in the aftertaste. It can be paired with starters, pasta dishes and white meat and is an ideal red terrace wine that we like to drink slightly chilled.

The 'azienda agricola Montaribaldi' is historically a family business, located in the middle of the Langhe hills in the small village of Barbaresco. The Montaribaldi winery has been owned by the Taliano family from the beginning and has 19 hectares in the Barberesco area. In 1994 Luciano and Roberto took over the company from their father and immediately decided to only produce high quality wines. It is still a real family business, father Guiseppe and mother Carla as well as the wives of the owners, Antonella and Franca all cooperate. At present they produce about 75000 bottles a year. Thanks to the perfect location of the vineyards of Montaribaldi and the typical white soil of the hills in Langhe, the elegant wines that come from them have a long life. Note that the land around the Montaribaldi vineyards is from Gaja. The family makes some of the most famous wines from the Piedmont region: Barbaresco DOCG, Barolo DOCG, Barbera d'Alba DOC, Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Roero Arneis. They offer a complete range of wines, from grapes typical of this region. Typical of this winery is that the wines have their origin in Piedmont, are always recognizable as a 'Montaribaldi' wine and are sustainably grown and produced. As they call it themselves: making 'vineyard wines' distinguishes them from others.
