The Ladoucette Comte Lafond Sancerre Blanc is a delight and embodies everything you expect from a Sancerre! With a beautiful light golden color, this wine is complex, rich, lively and elegant. In the nose you discover citrus fruits, summer fruits, honey tones and blossom. The taste is fruity, with exotic fruits in delicate harmony with almond and pear. The finish is mineral and long, with notes of very ripe lemon.

Comte Lafond is the ancestor of Baron Patrick de Ladoucette and was the first to buy vineyards in the Loire in the 18th century. Comte Lafond had a huge ambition for wine expansion and originally came from Burgundy, but soon bought vineyards in Sancerre. Baron Patrick de Ladoucette continued this passion and developments.

The vines are 25 to 35 years old and the subsoil consists of a combination of clay, limestone and silica. From harvest to vinification, no machinery or even pumps are used. The estate is designed for gravity. The plots are all vinified separately. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine rests on the lees for 3 to 6 months. The wine is deliberately not aged in wood in order to preserve the pure and natural character of the wine.

Since the end of the eighteenth century, the Lafond family has owned the largest and most renowned vineyards of Pouilly Fumé. After a challenging period of the French Revolution, Comte Lafond's efforts are continued by his great-grandson Baron Patrick de Ladoucette. From more than 100 hectares of vineyards on silex soils and pure limestone soils in Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre, Ladoucette makes its best-known white wines, which are considered world references of Sauvignon wines.
