Description
The Okonomierat Rebholz Riesling Kastanienbusch Grosses Gewachs is another typical 'large' terroir wine from Rebholz, a wine is made separately from each mountain or hill with its own unique soil structure. This 'chestnut forest' is a big name in the Palatinate because it is one of the major crus in the region. Light golden yellow in color, very aromatic nose with some flint. Intense wine that touches all corners of the mouth. Tight dry wine with a fresh and very powerful attack, mouth-filling, complex and very interesting to experience. What depth and length!
The red slate soil, unique in Palatinate, gives this wine its special aromatic power: elegant citrus fruit, apple, apricot, aromatic green herbs and (green) tea. The structure is balanced, powerful yet elegant and fresh, and the ripe fruity and mineral taste is simply fantastic!
The strictly selected Riesling grapes undergo a cold soak immediately upon arrival in the wine cellars to utilize the full aromatic power of the skins. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The search is for a perfect balance between fresh acid, fruit, residual sugar and alcohol.

The 2022 Kastanienbusch Riesling GG shows a clear, cool and purist, spicy, delicately smoky and very elegant nose. On the palate, this Kastanienbusch is a great, long-lasting 2022 that pairs its round, juicy fruit fullness with piquant spice and racy acidity. It has a long-lasting, always salty finish. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2023.

Super-complex nose of wild herbs and licorice, plus notes of tropical flowers. Super concentrated and super-focused with an energy that knocks you back in your chair. Very long and pure finish that seems to vibrate on the palate. Made for the long term, but this is already accessible now. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink or hold.
