The wine has a beautiful tension that provides freshness and supports its body and richness in the aftertaste.
Vineyard management
The year was marked by an unstable beginning, but a favorable second half, resulting in an excellent ripening of the grapes. A blend of 52% Sauvignon Blanc and 48% Sémillon, the 2022 Latour Martillac Blanc reveals aromas of pear, peach, iodine, lime tree and verbena. Medium to full-bodied, tense and mineral-driven with a salty, fresh finish, this is a classic and incisive Latour Martillac Blanc.

Fresh and bright with lemon pith, white flowers and chalky minerality. Medium- to full-bodied with vivid acidity. Really attractive and crisp.

The 2022 Latour-Martillac Blanc has a lovely bouquet, much more complex than some of its peers, with honeysuckle, beeswax, and touches of mirabelle. The palate is well balanced with a twist of sour lemon, moderate weight, lightly spiced toward the finish. This will do just nicely.

Bright citrus, tart pineapple, and honeyed mint are just some of the nuances in the 2022 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc, a medium-bodied, vibrant, crisp white that certainly makes the most of the vintage. It shows plenty of ripeness and concentration, yet I love its acidity and balance.

The 2022 Latour-Martillac Blanc strides confidently out of the glass with pronounced notes of spiced apples, juicy peaches, and green mango, followed by hints of lime leaves and chalk dust. The medium-bodied palate delivers great intensity, with a refreshing line and long, zesty finish.

With little effort you find flowers, green apples, pears, pomelo, white peach, and pineapples in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is sweet, supple, soft, and fresh, with nuances of pineapple, lemon curd, spice, and orange rind. The harvest took place August 18 - August 31.The wine blends 52% Sauvignon Blanc with 48% Semillon.

Light yellow green, silver reflections. Fresh meadow herbs, white tropical fruit, lime zest, green apple. Tight-knit, crisp and mineral, yellow apple and a touch of blossom honey, lime zest in the finish.

The estate owes its name to the tower that stands in the courtyard of the castle. It is the remnant of a fortress built in the 12th century by Montesquieu's ancestors. At that time, the fortress had a strategic position and controlled the road that connected Bordeaux to Toulouse. The stones of the fortress were used at the end of the 18th century to build the current castle.
In 1871, the estate attracted the attention of Edouard Kressmann, who had just founded his trading house in Bordeaux. He was seduced by the quality of the white wines. Alfred Kressmann, Edouard's eldest son, finally bought the estate in 1930. He changed the name to Château Latour-Martillac. Today, Jean Kressmann's children continue the family tradition, with Tristan and Loïc, the two youngest sons, in charge of the general management. Year after year, with the help of the best oenologists in Bordeaux, they make the most of this authentic "terroir de Graves".
