With the Beau-Séjour Bécot 2022, this estate has taken another step up in the ranks of Saint-Émilion. The wine has been voted in the top 10 of the best wines from 2022 Bordeaux with a possible 2 x 100 point score. Given the price level, it is not surprising that this wine has been bombarded as the "Most Affordable 2022 Bordeaux". The higher proportion of Cabernet Franc takes Beau-Séjour Bécot to an even higher level. Very much tension and complexity. Precise, refined tannin structure that brings a nice grip. Strawberry, berries and rhubarb. Wild herbs, lavender and rosemary blossom. Salinity. Clear lime note. Stimulating, stimulating acids that bring a lot of freshness and cleanse the mouth in the finish. Beautiful wine and a new chapter for Beau-Séjour Bécot.”

With the 2022 Beau-Séjour Bécot, this estate has taken another step up the ranks in Saint-Émilion, producing a wine of breathtaking perfume and harmony that will be worth a special effort to seek out. Wafting from the glass with aromas of wild berries, violets, lilac, raw cocoa and forest floor, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, with an ample and enveloping core of weightless fruit, beautifully powdery tannins and a long, saline, resonant finish. Recently planted massale selection Cabernet Franc is now producing meaningful yields at this address, so this cépage now represents 22% of the blend, complemented by 2% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Merlot. The team harvested only in the mornings, picking Merlot from 5-18 September and Cabernet from 13-23 September, sub-block by sub-block.

The 2022 Beau-Séjour Bécot has a bit more Cabernet Franc than most years, which comes through immediately in the wine's aromatic profile. Dark, rich and expressive., the 2022 is seriously impressive. Crushed flowers, herbs, mint, blood orange and red-toned fruit all build into a sumptuous, majestic finish that just explodes on the back end. The 2022 is one of the very finest editions of Beau-Séjour Bécot I can remember tasting. It is a great, great wine.

In 1969, Michel Becot bought the Chateau Beau-Sejour, and nowadays, the property stretches over 22 HA.Since then, Michel Becot’s sons, Gerard and Dominique have developed many technical innovations in their wine storehouse, and the vineyard in order to select the highest quality grapes, harvest them and then, hand picked them grape by grape.Under the vineyard and its 7HA. of limestone grounds lay safely in the best possible condition, over hundred thousand of well selected bottles of wine.
Today, the sixth generation of the Becot family is energized by the very same passion , close to its deep rooted family traditions, and is working diligently to maintain its ranking amongst the very best world grand crus.
