Description
The Dupuy vineyards are located in Verdigny in the Loire Valley in Northern France. The plots are mainly located in Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé and Touraine. The wine company's main motivation and passion is the Sauvignon Blanc grape, which uses the most advanced techniques to make a wine that is as pure and authentic as possible. The company now also makes very nice wines with Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir.
The estate and wine empire have been owned by Miguela and Joost Willebois since 2004. Dutchman Joost Willebois has French roots, his French ancestors had the name Villebois, which later became Willebois. When Miguela and Joost bought a wine estate in Verdigny in 2004, they renamed it Villebois. Their wines under the name Charles Dupuy are a tribute to Charles Etienne Dupuy, who in 1920 donated his 80 hectares of land to the then wine estate.
The grapes for this Chenin blanc are done manually in 2 runs. It certainly takes a little more time, but this way the chenin grapes can be harvested for ripeness and freshness. The perfectly ripened grapes do not require malolactic fermentation. In the glass, the wine has a light and bright lemon yellow color with soft, subtle mineral notes wrapped in aromatics of melon and citrus. Tropical fruits, citrus and
herbal aromas and flavours, with an even acidity and minerality. This in a full and rich chenin blanc. Great as a standalone glass and gastronomically this wine stands proud everywhere and perfect with a nice piece of pork or a pasta with red or white sauce.
