2022 Alois Lageder Alto Adige Chardonnay

We are not winemakers', says Alois Lageder, descendant of a family that has been passionate about wine for four generations. 'We see our role more as that of midwife, coach and teacher. Our task is to accompany the grapes in good health and with the utmost care and to encourage the successful development of our wines in every respect.' Over time, the Lageder family has managed to buy several wine estates and vineyards in the best wine regions of Alto Adige. At the moment the company is led by Alois Lageder, but the next generation is already eager to take over the business. The vineyards are almost exclusively biodynamic. The labels on the bottles are in line with this. They form a beautiful symbolic bridge between vineyard and cellar on the one hand and the wine in the glass on the other. These exceptionally beautiful wines continue to amaze us and have been the foundation of our collection for many years. Many of the wines are 100% biodynamic and Demeter certified.

This delicious Alto Adige Chardonnay from Alois Lageder is fermented in stainless steel tanks, then raised for 4 months on its own fine sediment (sur lie). In the glass, this chardonnay is bright and sparkling, straw yellow in color with light green hues. In the nose delicate aromas with pronounced notes of subtropical fruit. Quite intense in taste, medium-bodied structure, supported by a good fresh acidity.
