One of the most famous wineries from Baden is Weingut Salwey. The winery is especially appreciated for its phenomenal wines from Grau-, Weiß und Spätburgunder, all of which are among the best wines in Germany. Another specialty is the Weissherbst (rosé type) from Spätburgunder and Riesling. The history of the winery dates back to the mid-18th century, with Weingut Salwey remaining unchanged in family hands and still located in its original location in Kaiserstuhl, Baden.

The total vineyard management includes 39 hectares with vineyard properties in: Oberrotweiler Kirchberg, Eichberg, Henkenberg and the Glottertaler Eichberg. A new cellar in Niederrotweil provides much-needed air and space for the planned 10-hectare vineyard expansion. Weingut Salwey is a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), which includes the best wineries in Germany.

Unlike many delicate Pinot Blanc wines from Alsace, Weissburgunder Kabinett Trocken is a wine with aging potential! In the glass, the wine has a pale straw yellow color. The aroma is sultry with nuances of almond and honey. Creamy, fine fruity taste with citrus and pineapple fruit. The final ends nicely dry and lasts a long time thanks to the nice fruit acids. A delicious glass and excellent accompaniment to a quiche or grilled fish dishes.
