Description
Shelter Winery delivers a magnificent Spätburgunder. A light, translucent ruby red, it has an aromatic nose, fruity, spicy, and mineral. The palate has a spicy attack, evolving from red to dark berries, plum compote, and spicy accents. Notes of mocha, toasted wood, and vanilla. A velvety mouthfeel, fresh and elegant, with a long finish.
A delightful red Spätburgunder, a German Pinot Noir from Baden—undoubtedly one of the finest regions for the elegant and fruity Spatburgunder. In the glass, the wine is cherry red with a light rim, as befits a Spatburgunder. This Spatburgunder can be described as a robust, full-bodied, dry, fruity red wine. In the glass, the wine has a light cherry-red hue, as befits a Spatburgunder. The wine is much more powerful than its color suggests. Plenty of red fruit, plenty of juice, and plenty of elegance. A very concentrated finish. Pinot Noir in its finest form!

Wijnhuis
One of the most famous wineries from Baden is Weingut Salwey. The winery is especially appreciated for its phenomenal wines from Grau-, Weiß und Spätburgunder, which are all among the best wines in Germany. Another specialty is the Weissherbst (rosé type) from Spätburgunder and Riesling. The winery's history dates back to the mid-18th century, with Weingut Salwey remaining in family hands unchanged and still located at its original location in Kaiserstuhl, Baden.
