2020 Jamieson Ranche Light Horse Cabernet Sauvignon

Jamieson Ranch Vineyards in Nappa Valley, United States, is more than just a producer of great wines. This Californian Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon (89%), Malbec (9%), and Merlot (2%). The wine was aged for six months in 20% French oak barrels and then for another year in steel, resulting in an elegant, fresh, and smooth wine unlike many Californian blockbusters. The nose reveals earthy notes of pine and morning dew, along with floral aromas of jasmine and magnolia. The palate reveals primarily flavors of blueberry and raspberry, medium-bodied and rich with lush, velvety tannins.

The fruity character and supple tannins make this wine particularly suitable in combination with pasta with wild mushrooms, chicken masala, double-cooked pork or rack of lamb.
