One of the leading domains in the Chianti area with ownership in the very best vineyards of Panzano, the "grand cru" area in the region. Best Chianti. This wine shows all the quality of the estate and is therefore the most important wine with 60% of the total production. Picked by hand and treated with respect, the grapes display the right character and elegance. The Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole is a distinctive wine that confirms Giovanni Manetti's growing fondness for the upland Lamole area of the appellation, which has always been considered somewhat detached or isolated from the rest of the appellation. In the face of climate change, Lamole's authenticity and cooler growing conditions are an important asset. Fruit comes from a nine-hectare estate at an altitude of 600 meters. This organic Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole is a wine style that will win over lovers of elegant Sangiovese. The wine is spicy and clear with a nice fresh cherry, blue flowers and mineral notes.

Winery Fontodi is located in Panzano, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region and has a long history. Vines have been cultivated here since Roman times and evidence has been found of vinification on this farm, called Via, as early as the 16th century. The current owner, the Manetti family, also has a long history in the Chianti area, although not in viticulture. This family made terracotta for about 300 years and started producing wine in 1968 after purchasing Fontodi. In charge of the 70 hectares of vineyard is Giovanni Manetti, assisted by his cousin Marco. Giovanni's first involvement with the company was in 1979. Soon after, he hired renowned oenologist Franco Bernabei to work together to improve numerous practices. A very important development is the construction of an ultra modern cantina, which was completed in 1998. Here the wines are fermented in stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks to get more extraction. Once ready, the wines are transported by gravity, instead of pumping, to the brand new barrel cellar to mature in French oak. The premier cuvees go in new oak, the other wines go in the older barrels. Different here is the use of no-toast oak barrels to keep a little more freshness in the wine. With all the vineyards, located in the valley of Conca d'Oro, meaning golden shell, Fontodi is one of the most respected producers in Chianti Classico. Organic viticulture, biodynamic wine making, creating beautiful fruits to produce a portfolio of artisan stylish wines. With their sense of tradition, an abundance of typicity and yet looking ahead, they know how to make characteristic wines from mainly Sangiovese grapes. Wines that should not be missing from any Italy fan!

A high-quality Chianti Classico with a maximum of 1 year of barrel aging, a Riserva that can be considered one of the first Sangiovese-Cabernet blends due to the perfect collaboration of Giovanni and Franco, and a Super-Tuscan named Flaccianello della Pieve from only Sangiovese that has high scores points with, among others, Robert Parker. Important other wines are the Pinot Nero, from Giovanni's teaching period, when he looked with great inspiration at Burgundy and the Syrah, which was planted as a youthful experiment. The latter 2 are bottled under the name Via. In short, wines that should not be missing from any Italy fan!
