At Domaine Vrignaud, they have been taking winemaking seriously for 5 generations. Here, in the north of the French Burgundy, tradition and modernization go hand in hand. the wines,
The vineyards, 19 hectares, are full of chardonnay grapes. According to Domaine Vrignaud Chablis, what makes wines so special are the soil, the altitude of the vineyards, the weather and microclimate (long, harsh winters and hot summers) and of course the work and knowledge of the Chablis winegrowers. Guillaume Vrignaud is a young winemaker with already 10 years of experience in both the vineyard and the wine cellar.
The name Chablis indicates that the wine comes from the most northerly vineyards of Burgundy, around the village of the same name. The Chablis vineyards are the most extensive “village vineyards” in this area, covering a total area of 2630 hectares between Paris and the historic city of Dijon. Fourchaume is known as the most important premier cru vineyard within the Chablis appellation. The southern slopes are north of the town of Chablis. The soil structure consists of the Kimmeridge rock with a high lime content and sandstone and is a great breeding ground for the grapes, resulting in a high mineral content in the wines.
The Chardonnay grapes come from a demarcated Fourchaume vineyard, which is recognized as 1er Cru. The wine does not mature in oak in order to preserve the wine's characteristics. Fresh white wine in the line what a Chablis can bring. Minerality and soft fruit complement each other very well. There is also a nice balance when tasting, which is especially evident in a large glass. Light golden yellow in color. A rich, powerful premier cru, with breadth and length. The aroma and taste offer citrus, nice juice, fruit, richness, strength and length in the aftertaste.

Harold Hamersma about Guillaume Brignaud Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 8,5
Then if you go for a Chablis, go all out. Premier Cru's are really a different story. Better story. Vrignaud's tells of little hazelnuts, vanilla pods and a bunch of enthusiastic pears and apples, who, in their best suits, set up chairs on all sides of the table. No nose-pulling poop, but hospitable people who intend to give us a nice evening. It will work, I suspect.
Winelife about Dom. Vrignaud Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume ORGANIC
Ripe yellow apples, quinces, almonds and a hint of wax. Soft in the mouth. Rich and with high acids. Hundred percent dinner Chablis.
The Vrignaud family have been winegrowers in the village of Fontenay-prés-Chablis for 5 generations. A typical Chablis village that was already founded in 1130 by the Templars and their 12th century church is the oldest in the region. The domain of the Vrignaud family is 19ha and is located in the middle of the best vineyards of Fourchaume. The domain includes 10ha of vineyards in the Chablis, the northernmost appellation of Burgundy. The wines are made from chardonnay like most white wines in Burgundy. The vineyards are cultivated using the organic method, for example no weed killers or pesticides are used routinely in the vineyard. Their oldest vineyards, which are still in use today, date back to 1955 and are used to make the Chablis 1er Cru “Fourchaume” Vieilles Vignes.
