2020 Antinori Tenuta di Biserno Insoglio del Cinghiale

One family: Antinori, one passion: Wine. The brothers Piero and Lodovico Antinori are the owners of the beautiful Tenuta di Biserna from Tocane. According to Parker: "Tenuta di Biserno remains one of the best kept secrets in Bolgheri" The Insoglio del Cinghiale is a beautiful blend of Syrah 32%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Merlot 32%, and Petit Verdot 6%. The vines are planted on a subsoil of mainly clay. The harvest is completely hand-picked in September and undergoes rigorous selection in the vineyards before being placed in 15kg baskets. Further selection on the sorting tables in the cellars. In the production process, 40% of the wine is aged in barriques for a period of 6 months. The rest of the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks. The wines from the barriques and the steel tanks were then combined and bottled and then matured for a further 6 months in the cellars of the domain.

The Insoglio del Cinghiale is a stylish wine, with lots of red fruit and nicely balanced hints of oak. The wine is still young, but already well balanced and with nice tannins. According to Robert Parker "One of the best wines made in Bolgheri"
