2020 Montaribaldi Gambarin Langhe Nebbiolo

The Nebbiolo DOC Gambarin is a young red wine made from the noble Nebbiolo wine and at Montaribaldi they know better than anyone how to make fantastic wines because they are the masters of Terroir wines. The vineyard is located in the municipality of Treiso at an altitude of 250-330 m and is almost 40 years old. The Nebbiolo is a late ripening grape variety and is harvested by Montaribaldi no earlier than in the first week of October. Once at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and crushed and then put into stainless steel thermo-conditioned tanks where the alcoholic fermentation takes place. The Alcoholic fermentation lasts about a week at a temperature of 26-28 ° C. Then and very important with the Nebbiolo, let the wine rest for 3 to 4 months at a low temperature to facilitate the deposition of the turbidity and the clearance. Just by giving the wine time, you don't have to do all kinds of tricks to get the wine clear. After this period, the Nebbiolos are allowed to mature in oak barrels. This happens both in 1-year-old and 2-year-old barriques of 225 liters (50%) as well as in large oak barrels (2,500-3,000 l 50%). Upbringing on oaks lasts 8-12 months. After this period, she stays in the cellars of Montaribaldi for a few more months, after which we can enjoy it.

With the Nebbiolo DOC Gambarin, nothing is rushed and everything takes place with minimal intervention. This is a very pleasant wine with the elegance of its big brother the Barolo. The wine has a brilliant ruby red color with garnet reflexes. In the nose, the wine is broad, broad and fruity with hints of violets and raspberries, perfectly blended with a certain spiciness. The oak gives the wine an extra cachet without this being even dominant. In the mouth the wine is fresh, fruity with soft and delicate tannins. The Gambarin is an ideal wine to enjoy in front of the fireplace, on the terrace and perfect with a meal. Delicious with a BBQ, with Pizza and with red pasta dishes.
