Lapostolle Clos Apalta is without a doubt the Icon wine of Chile and the only South American wine to reach the number 1 position in the famous Winespectator list. Lapostolle has built an iconic winery for this wine in the mountain near Apalta. The Lapostolle Apalta Single Vineyard receives the same treatment as the Clos Apalta, but is made to be enjoyed earlier, mainly because it is harvested from younger plantings intended to be used in the Clos Apalta with age. Another important difference by the way, but this Junior Clos Apalta only costs a fraction compared to its big brother
The Apalata Single Vienyard is a blend of equal parts Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the most beautiful vineyards of Lapostolle. Harvested by hand and selected by grape in the winery. The Lapostolle has been aged in French oak for 12 months, which gives the wine extra depth and complexity. This is a very elegant wine, completely balanced. Lots of dark fruit, with black chocolate and nuances of coffee. Long, powerful finish. The wine is already delicious to drink, but it can also be kept in the cellar for 10 years.
