In the 1960s, Giuseppe Inama, the founder of this renowned wine estate, started buying small parcels of vineyards in the heart of 'Soave Classico'. The area was originally planted with the old "Graecanicum" (native to Greece) variety. This name was subsequently converted to "Garganega" in the local dialect. His idea was to collect only top quality vineyards from old vine Garganega, and from them make a wine capable of restoring Soave's reputation. Today Inama counts as a reference for both white and red wines in Soave.
The Vulcaia and Vulcaia Fumé were the first wines produced in 1991 with the idea being to show the potential of the Soave Classico area for the Sauvignon blanc grape variety (which has already been famous in the adjacent Alto Adige). Not to make a copy, but something completely unique and Inama has succeeded and these Sauvignon's are sometimes called the Italian Chalbis. These Sauvignon blanc are grown on volcanic soil, which gives a completely new and different version of the French variety.
The Vulcaia Sauvignon del Veneto is a 100% Sauvignon and was the first wine produced by the estate in 1991 and since then Inama has been making a name for itself internationally with many high ratings from Gamberro Ross, Suckling and Parker. This Sauvignon is produced on volcanic soil, in the Soave Classico area on Monte Foscarino. After fermentation, the wine is aged sur lie in stainless steel. In the glass the wine has a lemon yellow color with notes of citrus and green apple in the nose, but now comes the special part. This is accompanied by a unique minerality and this gives a completely different character to the wine. More complex, less average. The wine also has a mineral character in the mouth with a nice freshness in the aftertaste.

Wine house Inama is located near the northern Italian city of Verona. The Inama family has been producing wines for more than 40 years and is the only activity that focuses entirely on them. Wijnhuis Inama is now run by Stefano and Guiseppe Inama, the 3rd generation, with the vision: producing various wines in which, despite the styles and trends of the moment, they mainly want to make wines where their vision of the beautiful country is sufficiently represented. . Therefore, an organic agricultural system is used because it produces better fruit. Wijnhuis Inama follows its own course and has therefore developed its own know-how, without consulting all kinds of experts and wine gurus. They believe in wine that generates emotions and therefore prefer to taste "blind".
