2019 Château Rauzan-Ségla

Château Rauzan-Ségla has a long and storied history dating back to the 17th century. The estate was originally part of the larger Rauzan estate, which was split into four separate properties in 1762. The part that would become Rauzan-Ségla was acquired by Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségla, and the estate has carried his name ever since. Over the years, the building changed owners several times and experienced periods of prosperity and decline. At the end of the 19th century, the estate was owned by the Frey family. However, like many properties in Bordeaux, it faced challenges during the phylloxera and economic downturn. In 1994, Château Rauzan-Ségla was purchased by the Wertheimer family, who also own the famous luxury goods company Chanel. The Wertheimers have invested in the estate and worked to restore its reputation for producing high quality wines.

The Rauzan-Ségla 2019 is a fatnastic wine with a beautiful ruby red color with aromas of cassis, blackberries, violets, rose petals and sweet base notes in the nose. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and concentrated, deep and layered, with beautifully refined tannins, lively acidity and a long, perfumed finish. This is a sensual, elegant Rauzan-Ségla
