Château Gruaud-Larose is a wine estate in Bordeaux and a second cru in the Bordeaux wine classification system of 1855. It is located in the village of Saint-Julien. For a long time it was one of the most important châteaux of the village, only overshadowed by the - originally undivided - Léoville. This cru, located behind Ch. Branaire Ducru and next to Ch. Lagrange, benefits from a magnificent terroir of stony deposits (from the Gironde, 700,000 years ago). It has belonged to the Merlaut family since 1997 and in recent years the wines have been awarded very high ratings without exception and their Gruaud-Larose is above all a super feminine, refined and delicate, but beautifully concentrated St. Julien. The vineyards are (or are in conversion) to organic viticulture.

The Gruaud Larose 2019 is a blend of 2/3 Cabernet Sauvignon supplemented with Merlot and a little bit of Petit verdot and Cabernet Franc. In the glass it has a dark red color with a purple hue. The Gruaud-Larose 2019 has a coherent, very harmonious bouquet with crushed stone and tobacco in which the black fruit is infused; cedar aromas emerge with further aeration. The taste is medium-bodied with a juicy mouthfeel. Liquorice and a hint of black pepper ensure the long beautiful finish. This is a magnum of 1.5 liter.
