Description
The Anysbos Tesame is a sparkling blend of Grenache Noir, Syrah and Cinsaut coming from the Botriver. Perfume, spices, fruit and savory notes on the nose. Vibrant notes of red and black currants and plums, supported by savory spices and cultivated earth. The finish is fresh with fine, dry powdery tannins. The cool-climate Bot-river appellation is well reflected in the wines of Anysbos. Fresher, not 'over-fruity' and good acidity. 5* Platter

Johan and Sue Heyns bought two pieces of land in the Botrivier Valley in 2008. Today the land is known as Anysbos. Anysbos is named after the Anysboegoe (Agathosma Cerefolium) that grows in the Overberg. They produce fantastic wine, olive oil and cheese. Over the years they have learned a lot about running a farm. They are assisted by a great staff, some of whom have been with the company since its inception. The help and advice of the winemakers of the Bot River valley has helped them immensely over the years. In 2012 Johan and Sue planted the first dryland bush vine Grenache in Botrivier. Other varieties followed: Chenin blanc, Grenache blanc, Rousanne, Marsanne, Shiraz and Cinsaut. The Anysbos wines are highly sought after and unique, because of the high quality but also because of the limited quantity that is produced.
The winemaker of Anysbos is Marelise Niemann and she also has her own line of Momento Wines, but also produces the wine of Anysbos. She currently uses the Anysbos cellar for all the wines she makes. She is passionate about working with grape varieties that are well suited to the South African climate. That means vineyards that can handle low rainfall and high temperatures; that fit naturally into the environment and do not require an excessive energy input. Her love for the Bot River Valley and the cultivars that thrive here is reflected in all her wines.
