The Alberdi Reserva from Rioja Alta comes from 100% Tempranillo grapes from the highest plots in the vineyards located in Rodezno and Labastida . The vineyards are more than thirty years old and grow in clay - calcareous soil at 5,00-600 meters above sea level . The wine was aged in American oak barrels for two years : the first year in new barrels and in the second year three-year-old barrels were used. This is a top wine, cherry red with a pink edge. Intense aroma, predominant berries with balsamic scents, coffee, vanilla and coconuts. Balanced with a silky mouthfeel. The wine has good acidity that emphasizes a long and fresh aftertaste. Beautifully refined, sturdy glass of wine at a very nice price.
This is the Reserva version which has been matured for 4 years and should not be confused with the Crianza
