The Alberdi Reserva of Rioja Alta comes 100% Tempranillo grapes from the highest plots in the vineyards located in Rodezno and Labastida . The vineyards are over thirty years old and grow in clay - calcareous soils at 500-600 meters above sea level . The wine was aged in American oak barrels for two years : the first year in new barrels and in the second year three-year-old barrels were used. This is a top wine, cherry red with a pink edge. Intense aroma, predominant berries with balsamic scents, coffee, vanilla and coconuts. Balanced with a silky mouthfeel. The wine has good acidity that emphasizes a long and fresh aftertaste. Beautifully refined, sturdy glass of wine at a very attractive price.
This is the Reserva version which has had 4 years of maturation and should not be confused with the Crianza
