Didier Dagueneau is a world-famous French winemaker who left his mark on Pouilly-Fumé. He died in 2008, but his son Benjamin, who had been in the company with his father for years, took over the company with the same passion and talent. Every wine lover knows the beautiful Pouilly-Fumés from Domaine Dagueneau. They are among the best and most sought-after Sauvignon Blanc wines and are on the menu of every serious star restaurant. The Rolls Royce of Pouilly Fumé. We can only obtain a few bottles of this. This is for the simple reason that only a very limited number of bottles are produced and this is then distributed to all the top wine merchants around the world. This is already the situation with the Blanc Fumé de Pouilly, but it is even more extreme with the Buisson Renard from Didier Dagueneau.
From one Single Vineyard from Saint Andelain comes Didier Dagueneau's flagship and cult wine - the Buisson Renard. The grapes from this small grandcru vineyard are harvested manually and the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Crisp, full, deep, complex with flint strewn is a summary of the Dagueneau Blanc Fume de Pouilly Buisson Renard, but this still does not sell the wine short. The wine smells of peppermint and cassis, with a hint of bitterness. In the mouth there are kiwi, pineapple and nectarine, leading to a lusciously juicy finish. This exceptional pouilly fumé naturally has the unique minerality that makes Dagueneau wine so unique and sought after.
This version is a very scarce magnum of 1.5 liters.
Domaine Didier Dagueneau is located in Saint-Andelain which falls under the Pouilly-Fumé (dry white wine type with AOC classification). The area is characterized by the mainly flint clay soil, partly responsible for the characteristic taste of the wines from this area.
Since the death of the eponymous owner Didier Dagueneau in 2008, the winery has been run by Benjamin Dagueneau. His father Didier was known in the wine world for his great wines. His son Benjamin is at least as talented and continues to work passionately in the way his father did. Of course you can taste that in the fantastic wines that this winery produces. The real wine lovers certainly know the beautiful Pouilly-Fumés of Domaine Dagueneau. They are among the most sought after and the best Sauvignon Blanc wines and are on the menu of renowned restaurants.
