Vineyard and Terroir
- Vineyard Size : The vineyards of Château Magrez Le Peyre cover a relatively small area, which contributes to the exclusivity of the wine.
- Soil : The vineyards are located on Saint-Émilion's characteristic limestone and clay soils, which are ideal for growing Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
- Grape varieties : The vineyard is mainly planted with Merlot, supplemented with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc.
Winemaking
- Harvest : The grapes are picked by hand to ensure that only the best fruits are selected.
- Vinification : Winemaking takes place in modern, temperature-controlled facilities, combining traditional techniques with innovative methods to maximize quality.
- Maturation : After fermentation, the wine matures in French oak barrels, some of which are new. This gives the wine extra depth and complexity.
Characteristics of the Wine
- Color : Deep ruby red to purple color.
- Aromas : Rich and complex aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackcurrants and plums, combined with notes of vanilla, cedar wood, mocha and spices.
- Taste : Full and powerful with a firm structure. The wine has well-integrated tannins and a long, refined aftertaste. Black fruit flavors are complemented by hints of oak, chocolate and spices.
- Blend : Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Suckling (92093/100) - This is a new wine from here with a solid center palate of juicy fruit and firm and silky tannins that follow through to a fresh finish. Pretty. Shows excellent potential. Small production.
