Description
In wine, nothing is as unchanging as the land. Vintages offer variety, as do winemakers and owners. Mother Nature is capricious and always wants the last word. But the land is a constant, its geology and composition unchanging. At the heart of every great wine lies a piece of land like no other. Eisele Vineyard, first planted with vines in the 1880s, is located in the northeastern Napa Valley, just east of Calistoga at the foot of the Palisades Mountains. The vineyard has been grown organically since 1998 and biodynamically since 2000. The wines produced in this remarkable place have a rare combination of frank character with precisely defined flavors and fine textures, deep concentration without any sense of heaviness, and the ability to to develop deep complexity over the years. The Eisele Vineyard was originally planted in Zinfandel and Riesling in the 1880s, and has been continuously covered with vines since then. The first Cabernet was planted in 1964. In addition to the Cabernet, Eisele is now also famous with their Sauvignon Blanc. Fantastic white from Napa Valley with great storage potential.
The Eisele Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful, full-bodied wine with a rich taste of cassis, cedar wood and a hint of tobacco. It comes from the Napa Valley in California, where the Eisele Vineyard vineyards are located. This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that are grown and harvested in a unique way. Eisele Vineyard's vineyards are managed in a biodynamic way and the grapes are harvested manually to ensure quality. The grapes are then carefully selected and after fermentation the wine matures for 18 months in French oak barrels. The Eisele Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon is a highly appreciated wine among wine lovers because of its complex taste and its rich, full structure. It is a wine that goes perfectly with grilled or stewed meat dishes and also with a firm cheese. This wine is suitable for drinking now but can also be kept for several years. This wine often receives high marks in the ratings.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color. Its nose begins a little reserved, slowly revealing a quiet intensity of freshly crushed blackberries, chocolate-covered cherries, cassis and aniseed with compelling nuances of black tea, cigar box, truffles and charcuterie, plus, with coaxing, gentle wafts of red roses and crushed rocks emerge. The medium to full-bodied palate is simply arresting, offering a a myriad floral and earth sparks amidst a black fruit core and with seamless, firm, very fine-grained tannins. Well-knit freshness brings forth layer after layer of delicate nuances on the very long, mineral-laced finish. The team at Eisele, led by Frédéric Engerer (of Chateau Latour) and beautifully orchestrated by winemaker Hélène Mingot, have knocked it out of the park this vintage with this singular expression that both embraces the site's heritage and reveals parts unknown.

The aromas are so complex here with blackberries, blackcurrants, raspberries and orange peel. Juicy and deep with a polished and lush texture. Full-bodied yet supple and harmonious. Poised and extremely long. You really want to drink this now, but be patient. Try after 2024.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from Eisele Vineyard is simply monumental. Powerful and persistent, the 2016 marries intensity with finesse in the way only a wine from a world-class site can. Everything is just in the right place. Time in the glass brings out stunning richness in every dimension and truly exceptional pedigree. Dramatic and statuesque in its beauty, the 2016 is a towering Cabernet Sauvignon that shows why Eisele Vineyard is one of the world's great vineyard sites. In a word: epic.

Once again, I was so captivated by the Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasted at the end of a long day, after many wines, and in the company of many outstanding wines, the 2016 stood out for its unbelievable textural intensity and extraordinary balance. Eisele is a magical place. Winemaker Helene Mingot is certainly getting the most out of this land.

Grown organically since 1998 and biodynamically since 2000, the site has been devoted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon for the last fifty years. Beginning with its inaugural release called Eisele in 1971, this iconic vineyard has consistent recognition for owning one of Napa Valley's great terroirs. The wines invariably express the exceptional depth, elegance and longevity that characterize the Eisele vineyard.
Since 1971, some of California's most famous Cabernet Sauvignons have been made from grapes grown in the Eisele Vineyard, located on an alluvial slope near the north end of the Napa Valley, just east of Calistoga. Protected by the Palisades Mountains to the north and cooled by the western breezes of the Chalk Hill Gap, this 38-acre vineyard is planted on well-drained boulder soils that produce a low-yielding crop of exceptionally concentrated fruit.
