Bruno Rocca is one of the top producers in the legendary village of Barbaresco. His wines mainly come from the well-known cru Rabajà. Bruno Rocca is a modernist and the wines are extremely accessible, very fine and often comparable to the better Barolos (which are also made from the nebbiolo grape). Every year only about sixty thousand bottles are made on the domain. The offer is therefore limited. A famous statement by Bruno Rocca that describes the philosophy of the Bruno Rocca winery exactly and in one sentence:
"Strangely enough, it is not our job to make wine, but only to guide him in his evolution towards maturity. The wine is a reflection of the country, not the winemaker's"
Bruno Rocca is a master at achieving elegance and finesse with the Nebbiolo grape. The 2015 Barbaresco is a good example of this talent. The bouquet is initially modest and even shy, but opens slowly with impressive complexity and nuance. Beautiful notes of cassis, licorice, spices, white truffles and herbs. The mouthfeel exhibits extreme softness and grace. Give this wine a few years to the cellar to further refine
Good wine. Combine with meat dishes, especially stewed meat and with mature, old cheese types (from Piedmont).
