The 2004 has received the maximum score of 100 parking points and has a lifespan of at least 50 years. The Gran Reserva 2004 spent 5 years in the barrel before bottling. The Gran Reserva is produced from 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano and 5% from the peel and pulp of white grapes (Viura and Malvasia) from the vineyards of an average of 60 years. The grapes are harvested by hand in 12-kilo boxes, which are cooled for 24 hours in cold rooms to 4-6 º C already after which only "loose hombros" or the shoulders (the upper part of the grape bunch) are used for his wine , because these are the most ripe grapes that have seen the most sun. The removed grapes are then fermented in French oak barrels, after which the wine is transferred to new oak barrels (80% French and 20% American) for malolactic and aging for 60 months. Purple almost black in color with a surrealistic bouquet of kinky herbs, truffle, minerals, and black fruit (berry, blackberry) in the mouth, it is a strikingly powerful yet so elegant and fresh. It is mouth-filling, complex and astonishingly rich. It will improve even further in the next 10-15 years and will remain at least great until 2060. The lifespan of this wine is enormously long at four to five decades. A wine for eternity.

When a legend like Fernando Remírez de Ganuza expands his portfolio, with fairy-tale wines, with a prestige Gran Reserva, which shadows everything else, it becomes poetic. Such a wine will be discussed for a very long time, because it belongs to the extremely exclusive group of wines that were honored with the highest distinction that is currently there: 100 Parker points!

This means that the Remírez de Ganuza Gran Reserva 2004 is not only one of the best wines in Spain, because only six times did Robert Parker's Wine Advocate give the highest score to a Spanish wine, but also to the best wines in the world. Legendary wines such as Château Lafite-Rothschild 1986, Penfolds Grange 2008, Harlan Estate Proprietary Red Wine 1994 or Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 1985 have received 100 points. What kind of wine tasting would that be, and what kind of illustrious company would find the 2004 Remírez de Ganuza Gran Reserva?
