Lagar de Fornelos is a winery located in the Rias Baixas region of Galicia, northwestern Spain. This region is known for its production of high-quality white wines, mainly made from the Albariño grape. Lagar de Fornelos is part of the larger winery La Rioja Alta, SA , a renowned winery with a long tradition of producing quality wines in Spain. The philosophy of Lagar de Fornelos is aimed at preserving the typical characteristics of the Albariño grape and the terroir of Rias Baixas, through the use of modern viticulture and vinification techniques.

The vineyards of Lagar de Fornelos are located in the O Rosal and Cambados subzones within the DO Rias Baixas. These areas benefit from a unique microclimate ideal for growing Albariño.
Soil: The soils in this region are mainly composed of granite and sand, which contributes to the minerality and freshness of the wines. The main grape variety grown is Albariño, an aromatic white grape known for its high acidity and intense citrus and stone fruit aromas.
