In the rural beauty of Tuscany, more than 40 kilometers south of Siena, lies a small architectural wonder: Montalcino. The name of this town is derived from the Latin "Mons Ilcinus": hill of holm oaks. Col d'Orcia literally means "hill overlooking the river Orcia". The production area that marks the southwestern border of the Brunello di Montalcino region is inextricably linked to the position where the vineyards are planted. The mission of Col d'Orcia is to produce the best wines with the obtained and exceptional combination of the terroir and the climate in this area of Montalcino. Since 1973, this wine estate has been owned by the Cinzano family, a big name in the world of the beverage industry and today led by Count Francesco Marone Cinzano.

The domain is steeped in tradition and gives pride of place to the Sangiovese (80% of the vineyards). It refuses to engage in 'bodybuilding' with its wines. They are timeless wines, which mature in large casks (150hl).

Of course there is the Brunello di Montalcino, but also the rare Riserva, two wines of great class with a long shelf life. For slightly earlier consumption, there is the Rosso di Montalcino and Banditella as a 'single vineyard' cru. Special wines in the range are Nearco and especially Olmaia, which, with its international character, thanks to the 100% Cabernet, seeks the Super Tuscans' rapprochement. The Sant'Antimo Pinot Grigio conquers the heart of every lover of top Italian white wines.
