The Marsanne Grape

Marsanne is a white grape variety that originates from the northern Rhône region. Nowadays the variety is also found in the southern Rhône area, California and in Australia (Victoria), where this grape has been planted since the mid-19th century. Marsanne is one of eight permitted grapes in the Côtes du Rhône appellation.

What does wine from the Marsanne grape taste like?

Marsanne's wines are fresh and peachy at first, later they become heavier and fuller (honey-like). They are often mixed with Roussanne or Viognier. The wine usually goes well with fish dishes.
