And now for something completely different! British Fizz, and a very sophisticated one too! The Sussex region may well be the new Champagne of the future. Big Champagne houses know that too. Cool sea breeze and limestone soil. Three classic grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in the blend provide this beautiful sparkling wine, which with the current global warming may become even better than the founders. For that reason, many large champagne houses have now also bought plots of land to plant vineyards here.

The Henners Brut has a beautiful light straw yellow color and a beautiful perlage. Sourdough aromas (3 years on its yeast) are combined with crisp green apple fruit for a wonderfully inviting nose. The taste is beautiful with a lively and persistent mousse. Fruit characters of green apple and pear mingle with toasted brioche. Balanced acidity and a long finish make this a very classy sparkling wine. And: vegetarian, vegan, organic. Wonderful aperitif and of course a classi combination with the local oysters or crayfish.

Vineyard for Henners Brut

Domaine Boutinot is a very large wine producer. One with arms all over the world. Exports to 40 countries. Its “home base and wine heart are in the South Rhône. Therein lies his great love: The 7 vineyards of Domaine Boutinot are planted with classic Southern Rhone varieties: old vines Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and the more traditional Carignan Noir. They all fall within the Cairanne Cru map, sanctioned in 2016 when Cairanne got its appellation.

Astonishing in quality and beautifully reflects the local terroir. Work organically where possible and have very strict requirements for their partners. He also dares to look (ahead) across the border with possessions in England, Piedmont, and South Africa. They strive to consistently keep their produced wines as relevant, interesting, and commercial as possible while maintaining the absolute highest level of quality and price ratio.
