The Sussex region may well be the new Champagne of the future. The big Champagne houses are now aware of this and are buying up plots of land to plant vineyards here. Cool sea breeze and limestone soil. Three classic grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in the blend provide beautiful sparkling wine which with the current warming may become even better than from Champagne.
