Description
The Antinori brothers were pioneers in the early 1900s in producing sparkling wine with 2nd maturation in the bottle. Giacomo Puccini was a fan and the wine was served at royal banquets at the time. It disappeared from the radar for a while, but with the arrival of Franciacorta as an official appellation, the Montenisa Marchese Antinori sparkling wines have become an indispensable part of the family's beautiful portfolio. Franciacorta is the region in Italy where the similarity in terms of terroir is very similar to that of Champagne and the grapes that are used are also the same as those of Champagne.
All Marchese Antinori Franciacortas - such as the Cuvée Royale, Rosé and Blanc de blancs - are produced from a selection of Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco grapes and are made on the Montenisa estate around the hamlet of Calino, near Lake Iseo in the heart of the Franciacorta appellation. The vineyards surrounding the Maggi family villa have been the heart of Marchese Antinori Franciacorta production since 1999. Franciacortas, such as those of Antinori, are made according to the Champagne way, namely the traditional method.
The Antinori Tenuta Montenisa Marchese Antinori Brut Rosé is a refined sparkling wine from Franciacorta, one of the most prestigious areas in Italy for high-quality méthode traditionnelle (such as the Champagne method).
The Rose is a blend of mainly Pinot Noir, with a small amount of Chardonnay. Made according to the méthode classique, where a second fermentation takes place in the bottle, which ensures a refined mousse and complex aromas
This Antinori champagne matures for at least 24 months sur lie (on the yeast residues), which contributes to the creamy texture and depth
Color: Light salmon pink with fine, persistent bubbles
Nose: Elegant aromas of red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate, with subtle floral notes and a hint of toasted bread
Taste: Fresh and lively with a delicate balance between fruity notes and mineral freshness. The finish is refined and persistent
This Brut Rosé is ideal as an aperitif, but also combines well with light dishes such as:
- Seafood, such as oysters or shrimp
- Vitello tonnato or salmon carpaccio
- Sushi and sashimi
- Light cheeses, such as burrata or young goat's cheese

More information about Antinori
Marquis Piero Antinori is in charge and is assisted by his three daughters: Albiera, Allegra and Alessia. Funny those three A's. We are not going to bother you with all the awards that have been received over the years, because then this price list can no longer go through the letterbox. There are two red wines that are available on allocation and that one would like to get a few bottles from all over the world and that are Tignanello and Solaia and we also have these in our range at Grandcruwijnen.
In 1180, Ugo and Antinori di Rinuccino were officially named as owners of Castello di Combiate; a century later, the family who had moved to Florence were included in the register of the silk trade cooperative. In 1385, Giovanni di Piero, an indirect descendant, entered the wine guild as an apprentice. Since then, the wine-growing tradition of the Antinori family has been continuous. With the establishment of the Marchesi Antinori winery, the peak was reached in 1895 and already in 1898 the winery was built in San Casciano Val di Pesa, which is still the center of the widely branched group of properties in all major cultivation areas of Tuscany, Umbria. , Piemonte (since the early 90s through the purchase of the wine cellar Prunotto), Apulia and even California. The traditional house participating in the modern Tuscan wine-growing revolution owes much of its prestige to its former chief vinologist Giacomo Tachis, who produced exceptional wines such as Sassicaia, Tignanello (especially sangiovese), Solaia (especially cabernet) and many others. the other was responsible. Vinologist Renzo Cotarella also created one of the best chardonnays in Italy in the Umbrian Castello della Sala.
