The Kentia is one of the three wines from the Lagar Da Condesa winery, which is part of Gil Family Estates. Naturally made from the finest AlbariƱo grapes grown in a vineyard planted on predominantly granite soils, with some chalk and clay. This results in a very aromatic white wine with hints of aromatic herbs and fresh white fruit. Old vineyards planted in the Pergola system, traditional to this area, produce AlbariƱo grapes with high acidity given the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean and the high rainfall levels, fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine remained in stainless steel tanks until bottling, resulting in a wine that will continue to develop complexity during bottle aging (sur lie).

In the glass, the Kentia AlbariƱo has a light straw-yellow color with a green tinge. The taste is smooth and fresh, with high acidity, balanced and complex. The Kentia has everything that makes an AlbariƱo so beautiful, with aromas of ripe pear and peach, but also with the necessary minerality and a natural Atlantic sea injection and salinity. Medium-bodied on the palate with juicy Conference pear and ripe apple and a bouquet of herbs. To finish, there is a very light touch of white pepper that distinguishes this AlbariƱo from its peers. Everything is present: ripeness, freshness, and minerality. A fantastic gastronomic wine.

Perfect to pair with cooked seafood, white fish and shellfish, light pasta in salads or with marinara sauce, roasted bluefish, smoked sausage, grilled white meat, semi-hard cheeses, and creams.

About Lagar Da Condesa

It is not surprising that Julio CortƔzar wrote down his wish to return to the Rƭas Baixas. This land of Gaelic lyricism, pilgrims, ancestral stones, and thermal waters protects the countryside of ancient AlbariƱo vines and produces very refined white wines. The indigenous grapes are situated on sandy and granite soils that have become porous due to the frequent rainfall. The south-west facing aspect of the vines begs for the sun, which ripens the grape clusters. With the nearby murmur of the Umia River and its waterfall, the grapes are harvested by hand, just at the moment when they concentrate all their varietal character.
