Isabelle et Denis Pommier, or popularly known as Pommier, is a small family producer from Chablis that produces pristine, high-quality wines highly appreciated internationally. Isabelle and Denis Pommier cherish the unique soil in Chablis, where they have owned vineyards since 1990. They started with 2 hectares, on which the family cultivated grapes whose juice was sold to other winemakers. In the following years, they planted vines in Chablis and Petit Chablis. With their first own wine, in 1994, they immediately won the Concours des Vins de Chablis.

The vineyard holdings have since expanded to 16 hectares in the Petit Chablis, Chablis, and Chablis Premier Cru appellations. Despite its size, it remains a true family estate. Pommier works with respect for nature and is in the process of converting to organic farming. The wines are pure, with the beautiful mineral notes so specific to Chablis, yet thanks to the clay-rich soil, they are also juicy and round in taste. The wines are regularly awarded both in France (e.g., the Guide Hachette) and internationally (e.g., Robert Parker). Parker names Pommier as one of the Chablis houses undergoing the most spectacular development.

The Pommier Chablis is a wine in which the Chardonnay grape comes into its own perfectly. Soft, round, and rich in flavor, with a fresh, mineral finish. The grapes grow in two different vineyards, partly on Kimmeridge soil. The vineyards are cultivated according to organic principles. After the harvest, the wine ferments using natural yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation. A 6-month sur lie aging makes the wine rounder and more complex.

Ripe on the nose, with mineral and slightly smoky notes. Soft and complex on the palate with a good balance between rich, slightly creamy notes, elegant acidity, and minerality.

The Chablis is one of the most famous and appreciated wine regions in the world. The cool climate and especially the special soil provide wines with a striking freshness and minerality. This ancient Kimmeridge soil consists of a mixture of clay, lime and fossil shellfish. Isabelle and Denis Pommier cherish this unique soil in Chablis, where they have owned vineyards since 1990. They started with 2 hectares, on which the family grew grapes whose juice was sold to other winemakers. In the following years they planted vines in the Chablis and the Petit Chablis. With their first own wine, in 1994, they immediately won the Concours des Vins de Chablis.

The vineyard property has now been expanded to 16 hectares in the Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis premier cru appellations. With this size it is still a real family domain. Pommier works with respect for nature and is in conversion to organic. The wines are pure with the beautiful mineral and steel notes that are so specific to Chablis, but also juicy and round in taste due to the clay-rich soil. Both in France (eg the Guide Hachette) and at an international level (eg Robert Parker) the wines are regularly awarded. Parker calls Pommier one of the Chablis houses that is undergoing the most spectacular development.
