Description

The Pinotage Bushvine from Lievland Vineyards is made from pinotage grapes that come from vineyards in the Paarl region (supplemented with a very small percentage of cinsault and syrah). After the harvest, the grapes are immediately destemmed and crushed in the vinification cellar, after which they are left to soak for 2 days in a cooled manner. After this, the must undergoes temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After about 2 weeks, the pressing follows and the young wine is transferred to partly French and partly American used oak barriques. After 12 months of maturation, the wine is assembled, clarified, filtered and bottled.

The Pinotage Bushvine from Lievland Vineyards is deep ruby red in the glass. In the nose aromas of red berries, raspberries and spices. In the taste palette tones of ripe small black-red fruit, rhubarb and vanilla, which are accompanied by a finish with soft tannins and mild fresh acids.

FACT: In the tab: Attachment you will find the official factsheet of the wine and also a recipe of the winery for this wine (roasted lamb). We will automatically send you this when you order this wine.

Riaan Möller - Head winemaker at Lievland: "South African wines are called wines from 'the new world', But with the long history of grape growing in the Cape, I think it's better to say that we find the perfect balance between new and old-fashioned styles. At Lievland Vineyards, we are fortunate to work with top-quality Stellenbosch terroir. We take classic varieties and make wines traditionally, striving for the perfect balance between old-fashioned elegance and bright fruit from the new world."
