Description
The Impromptu Rosé from Hispano Suizas is a 100% Pinot Noir and is not your average 'summer wine' but a serious complex wine and extremely suitable for aging. The vineyards are located high at around 700-800 meters in the DOP Utiel-Requena. The altitude, the continental climate with its warm days but tempered by the sea and cool nights and the limestone plateau makes this a fantastic wine that scores unanimously high every year with wine critics (including best rosé in Spain).
In the glass this Impromtu Rosé has an elegant light pink color with aromas of red and tropical fruit in the nose with a subtle touch of vanilla and a nice tight mineral touch. In the mouth the wine is mouth-filling with a good acidity with flavors of red fruit and light dairy flavors in the finish and a mineral experience (lime/wet pebble). Very nice!
Do not serve this fine wine too cold. We actually recommend a drinking temperature of around 10-12°C for all more complex white and rosé wines - certainly not colder. Any precipitation that may be noticed in the wine is natural, because they process the wine with as little filtration as possible to fully appreciate its quality. Delicious with spicy dishes, sushi, rice with vegetables and chicken, soft cheese, omelette or fruit salad.
WINE MAKING IMPROMTU ROSE
A selection is made from the best grapes from our low yielding Pinot Noir vines. Only the best is allowed in this Rosé
The grapes are collected in special boxes of 15 kg. They only harvest in the early morning to keep the grapes at a low temperature until they arrive at the winery. Once at the winery, the full boxes are put in refrigerators where the grapes are kept for three days at a temperature of -10ºC.
They make a selection per box and then destem and crush the grape bunches. The resulting pulp is transferred to a refrigerated stainless steel tank where it is cold macerated on the skins, 0ºC, for about 2 hours. After this, the grapes are transferred to the pneumatic press for a soft pressing at a maximum of 0.5 bar. The must from the press is decanted for 24 hours after which we let only the clean must ferment in new American oak barrels with a capacity of 400L and at a temperature of 16ºC. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is stored in exclusive Galileo tanks (spherical cement tanks with a radiant surface) where it is allowed to mature for some time (without further influence of wood) until bottling.

The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc “Impromptu” has a potent bouquet of smoke, beeswax and granite that you would have difficulty identifying as a Sauvignon Blanc – more like a Viognier. The palate is very well-balanced with fine tannins and subtle walnut, mandarin and tangerine peel notes on the mid-palate that lead to a very composed, finely-tuned finish. Excellent. Drink now-2016.

Light gold. Lime, grapefruit, jasmine and anise on the nose, with bright minerality and an exotic candied ginger quality. Racy, sharply defined citrus and pea skin flavors show impressive cut and palate-staining concentration, with a strong anise accent. Finishes with outstanding thrust, energy and focus, leaving mineral and chalk notes behind.

The Hispano Suizas estate is the story of the conviction to make a dream come true.
The history of the Hispano Suizas winery
Hispano Suizas was founded in 2006 by three passionate winemakers with a shared vision to create a world-class winery. Pablo Ossorio, Rafael Navarro, and Marc Grin were united by their common passion for wine and their desire to introduce innovations in viticulture. With their extensive experience in both national and international wine markets, they transformed Hispano Suizas into a winery that gained significant recognition in a short time. The winery has been awarded numerous prizes and is loved by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
Their goal: To produce high-quality wine and make it accessible to the growing number of wine lovers. This requires daily care and attention to ensure the best way to produce exceptional wine. They have been meticulous and patient during production, knowing that the right combination can yield an exceptionally beautiful result. The ambition is high; producing masterful wine and making it accessible to the consumer are often conflicting goals.
The region where Hispano Suizas is located
Hispano Suizas is located in the Utiel-Requena region, Valencia, one of the most important wine areas in Spain. This region is part of the autonomous community of Valencia and enjoys an ideal climate for viticulture. With hot summers and cool nights, the area offers the perfect conditions for the development of complex and flavorful wines. The limestone-rich soil and the altitude of the vineyards contribute to the distinctive flavor profiles of the wines produced here.
Viticulture at Hispano Suizas
Hispano Suizas combines modern techniques with age-old methods to guarantee high quality. The wines grow in an area covering 61 hectares, 46 hectares of which surround the winery, while the remaining 15 hectares are only 500 meters away. The vineyards are meticulously maintained, with a focus on sustainable viticultural practices. The grapes are handpicked to ensure only the best quality is selected. Precision is maintained throughout the entire process, from grape cultivation to bottling, to ensure consistent quality.
What grape varieties are used?
Hispano Suizas uses a variety of grape types, both local and international. Some of the main grapes used include Bobal, a regional variety known for producing wines with deep color and robust flavor, and Tempranillo, renowned for its versatility and refinement. Additionally, grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are cultivated to create unique blends and single varietals. For white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are used, resulting in fresh and aromatic products.
Approximately 4,000 vines grow per hectare, allowing the winery to work with great precision to cultivate and harvest the best quality grapes. The production per vine is only 2 kg. Due to the diversity of grapes grown, the harvest spans almost three months, starting with the cava in August and concluding with the red wines in October.
