Description
The fantastic Albariño Finca Casa Julia is, as the name suggests, a 100% Albariño from the Designation of Origin Utiel-Requena. The Finca Casa Julia is the first Mediterranean Albariño ever! The Albariño grape is especially famous in the Rias Baixas used for beautiful white wines. In that area the Albariño grape thrives thanks to the influences of the Atlantic Ocean. The top house HispanoSuizas was the first to make a fantastic Mediterranean Albariño by using the altitude of the vineyards (approximately 750 meters), the continental climate, the large day/night difference in temperature and the influence of the Mediterranean Sea. These elements are necessary to make a very fine wine from the Albarino grape and one that is also distinctive.
The Finca Casa Julia has the typical Albarino yellow color with a green tinge in the glass. In the nose the Albariño Finca Casa Julia is very intense, fruity and floral, with a light hint of oak that is very well integrated. In the mouth Fruity, with beautiful acids as befits a beautiful Albarino and this gives a very elegant feeling. The good acidity makes you long for the next sip and gives the wine a beautiful elegant long aftertaste. This is a serious complex Albarino that can also age excellently and is certainly not average. In terms of style it comes more to a Pazo Barrantes certainly partly due to the wood aging and long maturation.
Do not serve this fine wine too cold. We actually recommend a drinking temperature of around 10-12°C for all more complex white wines - certainly not colder. Any precipitation that may be noticed in the wine is natural, because they process the wine with as little filtration as possible to fully appreciate its quality. Ideal to combine with seafood, fish, old cheese, vegetables, smoked food, seafood rice or white meat.
WINE MAKING
They select the best grapes of low-yielding varieties from our own Albariño vineyards, with a planting density of 4,000 plants per hectare. The grapes are collected in special boxes of 15 kg each. The harvest takes place only in the morning to guarantee the right temperature of the grapes until they reach the cellar. Once in the cellar, the full boxes are placed in a cold room and the grapes are stored at -10 ° C.
They select the best grapes very selectively and then the bunches are destemmed and crushed. All the resulting grape pulp then goes into a stainless steel tank with a cooling system to subject the grapes to cold pellicular maceration (8 °C).
The grapes then go to a pneumatic press for a light pressing of maximum 0.5 bar. The must extracted from the press is decanted statically for 24 hours and then only the clean part of the must is transferred for fermentation to new American oak barrels with a capacity of 400 litres and a temperature of 16°C. Once fermentation is complete, it is stored on lees (sur lie) in exclusive Galileo tanks (spherical cement tanks with a radiant surface) until bottling.

The Hispano Suizas estate is the story of the conviction to make a dream come true.
The history of the Hispano Suizas winery
Hispano Suizas was founded in 2006 by three passionate winemakers with a shared vision to create a world-class winery. Pablo Ossorio, Rafael Navarro, and Marc Grin were united by their common passion for wine and their desire to introduce innovations in viticulture. With their extensive experience in both national and international wine markets, they transformed Hispano Suizas into a winery that gained significant recognition in a short time. The winery has been awarded numerous prizes and is loved by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
Their goal: To produce high-quality wine and make it accessible to the growing number of wine lovers. This requires daily care and attention to ensure the best way to produce exceptional wine. They have been meticulous and patient during production, knowing that the right combination can yield an exceptionally beautiful result. The ambition is high; producing masterful wine and making it accessible to the consumer are often conflicting goals.
The region where Hispano Suizas is located
Hispano Suizas is located in the Utiel-Requena region, Valencia, one of the most important wine areas in Spain. This region is part of the autonomous community of Valencia and enjoys an ideal climate for viticulture. With hot summers and cool nights, the area offers the perfect conditions for the development of complex and flavorful wines. The limestone-rich soil and the altitude of the vineyards contribute to the distinctive flavor profiles of the wines produced here.
Viticulture at Hispano Suizas
Hispano Suizas combines modern techniques with age-old methods to guarantee high quality. The wines grow in an area covering 61 hectares, 46 hectares of which surround the winery, while the remaining 15 hectares are only 500 meters away. The vineyards are meticulously maintained, with a focus on sustainable viticultural practices. The grapes are handpicked to ensure only the best quality is selected. Precision is maintained throughout the entire process, from grape cultivation to bottling, to ensure consistent quality.
What grape varieties are used?
Hispano Suizas uses a variety of grape types, both local and international. Some of the main grapes used include Bobal, a regional variety known for producing wines with deep color and robust flavor, and Tempranillo, renowned for its versatility and refinement. Additionally, grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are cultivated to create unique blends and single varietals. For white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are used, resulting in fresh and aromatic products.
Approximately 4,000 vines grow per hectare, allowing the winery to work with great precision to cultivate and harvest the best quality grapes. The production per vine is only 2 kg. Due to the diversity of grapes grown, the harvest spans almost three months, starting with the cava in August and concluding with the red wines in October.
