Description
These highly sought after Finca EloÃsa Appassionada wines are made by Bodegas Medio and come from the DOC Rioja. The bodega is located at the foot of the Sierra de Yarga south of Logrono. The area has a continental climate with Mediterranean summers. The vineyards are on average at an altitude of 500 meters.
The Finca EloÃsa Appassionada tinto is made from the Tempranillo grape. The grapes are harvested late and in the season, which means the acidity is lower and the potential alcohol is slightly higher. Some of the grapes undergo a drying period of a few days (Apassimento). This is followed by a classic fermentation and maturation of 4-6 months on American and French oak. The new harvest is always mixed with a small part of the previous one, so this is actually a Non-vintage wine. The ideal drinking temperature is, in our opinion, between 14-16°C
The Finca EloÃsa Appassionada tinto is bursting with ripe red fruit, liquorice and the beautiful characteristic Rioja spiciness. The taste is very soft and round, with a fine southern sultriness. The tannins are completely round and the roughness has disappeared. This is for the lover of a full, soft ripe red wine. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to stews and old hard cheeses
