Antoine Jobard Winery
Antoine Jobard is one of the most respected producers of white Burgundy in Meursault. The estate is known for a pure, crisp, and terroir-driven style, with a strong emphasis on tension, minerality, and aging potential. Restraint is maintained in both the vineyard and the cellar, ensuring that the origin and vintage remain clearly visible in the glass. Jobard's wines combine precision with depth and often develop beautifully with bottle aging. More information about this winery can be found under the Winery tab.
2023 Antoine Jobard Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin
Le Trézin is often regarded as one of the hidden gems within Antoine Jobard's range. This Puligny-Montrachet clearly demonstrates why the estate is so beloved by lovers of classic white Burgundy. In 2023, the wine displays great tension, distinct minerality, and a refined concentration befitting its origin.
2023 vintage and vineyard work
The harvest began on September 1st under warm conditions, with temperatures of 33 to 34 degrees. Consequently, picking was carried out quickly and primarily in the morning. The Chardonnay was healthy and pure, with good ripeness and sufficient freshness. The white wines achieved yields of around 50 hl/ha. Compared to 2022, alcohol and pH are slightly higher, but still clearly below the levels of warmer years such as 2019. This gives the 2023 wines a beautiful balance between ripe fruit and tension.
Vinification and aging
As is customary with Antoine Jobard, the vinification focuses on precision and the preservation of terroir expression. Aging takes place partly in barrels and partly in tanks, which provides structure and texture without the wood dominating the wine. This approach supports the fresh, mineral character of Puligny-Montrachet and gives the wine sufficient depth for further bottle aging.
Color, smell and taste
Light golden yellow in color. On the nose, the wine displays distinct minerality with aromas of wet limestone, green apple, and subtle citrus. With some aeration, light spicy nuances emerge, adding extra refinement.
On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, with a round texture and plenty of tension at the same time. The fresh core is supported by notes of Granny Smith, light spices, and a concentrated, mineral finish. The whole remains precise, energetic, and elegant, with a style that is typical of Puligny.
Summary of professional reviews
The 2023 Le Trézin is regarded as one of Antoine Jobard's hidden gems. The wine stands out for its minerality, tension, and refined concentration. In particular, the combination of wet limestone, fresh apple-like fruit, and a round yet precise texture makes this wine a particularly successful vintage.

From: The Lord Giveth…Burgundy 2023 (Jan 2025)
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Le Trezin is often one of Jobard's "hidden gems," and this year is no different. Boasting admirable mineralité and tension on the nose, this offers wet limestone and Granny Smith scents. The palate is well balanced and lightly spiced with a rounded texture and a concentrated finish. Very fine.

Antoine Jobard guided me through his whites and reds at his winery in Meursault. “We started picking on September 1,” he tells me. “It was 33-34°C during harvest so we tried to pick quickly in the mornings. The Chardonnay fruit was quite clean and healthy. The Pinot Noir needed a lot of sorting because there were unripe berries within ripe bunches, also pourriture in the middle of the bunch, so it was too risky to undertake whole bunch. We discarded around 20% of the crop through sorting, the whites cropped around 50 hl/ha, the reds a little higher than last year. The Bourgogne Blanc was bottled this week and all the reds are bottled. Meursault and Premier Crus are still in barrel and are just undergoing racking, after which they will continue their élevage, 50% in vat and 50% in barrel, before bottling early next year. The alcohol and pH are slightly higher than in 2022 but lower than 2019, around 13.5% to 14.0%. The Meursault Goutte d’Or vines were pulled up after the harvest in 2022 and will return in 2027.
This was a fine run through the whites, crowned by a stunning Meursault Genevrières and an excellent Meursault Village. I am still a bit lukewarm to the more recently introduced reds that come across somewhat rustic by comparison to the whites.

This winery is one of the most stylish and consistent wineries to be found in Burgundy and the wines of this winery are usually paired with the best Meursalts. Other famous wineries such as Coche and Ravenau see Jobard as the ultimate example when it comes to meursault wines.
After working alongside his father for several years, Antoine has been officially in charge of this prestigious property since 2007. Although Francois has been able to enjoy his retirement for several years, he can still be found almost daily in the vineyards and cellar to assist his son. With the arrival of Antoine, the style of the wines has changed slightly. Some minor changes during winemaking have made them more accessible and refined, without sacrificing character. Antoine prefers to work with finer lie's than his father. He also bottles the wine in April / May of the second year following the harvest. These are only details, but the quality of the wines has increased further. Nothing has changed with regard to the work in the vineyards. The Jobards work long hours in the vine. Their 5 hectares are severely pruned and they only work with unproductive varieties to keep yields low. In the cellar, Jobard gives his wine time. After slow fermentation (Jobard's cellars are particularly cold), using only the natural yeast cultures, the wines are left to mature for a long time. The wines are bottled without filtering after about 18 months. Jobards wines are concentrated but not thick, the wood used is highly dosed and the wines have nice acidity and lots of minerality makes them great to rijpen.Alle wines from winery Jobard be in a vessel old and spend a long sur lie in the cellars from the winery in Meursault.
