2022 Zenato Santa Cristina Cabernet Sauvignon Garda

The Santa Christina estate has been owned by the Zenato family for many years. The estate is located about 25 km west of the northern Italian city of Verona, in the Veneto province. The vineyards cover 40 hectares and are situated on the best plots in the Lugana area. The optimal sun exposure, ideal soil composition, sufficient rainfall, and relatively low night temperatures ensure that the grapes ripen very well and evenly here, making them ideally suited for the production of high-quality wines.

The Zenato Santa Cristina Cabernet Sauvignon Garda is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. In the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon Garda DOC is deep ruby red in color. It is complex on the nose and rich in persistent aromas that alternate between red fruit, ripe fruit, jam, and underlying hints of vanilla, spices, and a very light but seductive herbaceous note. It is dry and full-bodied on the palate, with a beautifully balanced tannin structure that makes it ideal for aging for several years. The wine has matured in oak barrels for 15-18 months. Delicious with game dishes or a stew.
