2022 Vignerons de Buxy Bourgogne Pinot Noir Buissonnier

La Compagnie de Burgondie was founded in June 2015 by Les Caves Bailly Lapierre and Les Vignerons de Buxy. This new cooperative brings together the commercial, marketing and logistics departments of the two companies. In September 2016, AVB (Alliance of Vignerons Bourgogne-Beaujolais) also joined, making them specialists in Burgundy from north to south.

The Buissonnier Bourgognes have a fantastic price-quality ratio. The big Burgundy houses have seriously increased in price in recent years, we have here with the Buissonnier Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are located high on the hills near Buxy, on chalky gravel soil. An ideal basis for a low yield and a concentrated tasting, long-ripening grape. Part of the harvest ferments in stainless steel tanks and part in oak barrels. Both wines are assembled before bottling. It is not a complex white Burgundy, but the wine offers a beautiful expression of the Chardonnay from Burgundy at a great price.

The Vignerons de Buxy Bourgogne Pinot Noir Buissonnier has a good intensity and ruby red nuances in the glass. It offers an impressive palette of aromas dominated by morello cherry and red fruit. The structure has a nice balance and a well-integrated tannin which makes it very attractive when young. Goes perfectly with grilled red meat such as a beef rib or leg of lamb. Delicious with boeuf bourguignon, game or even a young cheese such as Gouda!
