In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT family traces its origins back to the municipality of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot winery is a family estate that operates on 20 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are now responsible for the vinification. Florence was educated in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to their training, they both completed many internships, at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998.

The Chardonnay comes from the Premier Cru vineyard Les Créot located in the Saint Aubin 1er Cru sub-area. The vineyard has a size of only 62 ares (6,200 m²) and in the good years a maximum of 3,900 bottles can be made here, but there is often some frost or hail damage in this region, so the actual number is often lower. In our opinion, the Saint Aubin Appellation is a very interesting region. The wines are just a bit accessible and what should not be left unmentioned is that they are clearly cheaper in terms of price than, for example, the Montrachets, but cheaper certainly does not mean less in quality. The Chardonnay vineyard was planted in the year 2000 and has a southern location. The soil consists of loose calcareous sand, pebbles and limestones.

As with all Domaine Lamy-Pillot wines, the grapes are picked manually and aged for 12-18 months in oak barrels, with 25% in new oak. The Lamy-Pillot Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Créot is a fat and greedy wine with a beautiful softness and ripe fruits. The wine has a lot of structure and a rich aroma. The taste is broad and rich with white flowers and notes of wood aging. A wonderful white Burgundy from Sant Aubin which is also very accessible in its youth.

The wine is stored in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you pick up the wine you will often receive a nice discount. You will see your discount immediately when you choose Pickup on the checkout page. We are almost next to the Rijksweg with plenty of parking. Click here for our address.

In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the outskirts of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT family traces its origins back to the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot wine estate is a family estate that works on 17 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin.

Today the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are now responsible for the vinification. Florence was educated in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to the training, they both completed many internships, at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998. Karine and her husband Daniel are responsible for sales and administration.

This real family domain has more than 20 hectares of vineyards and with this they make a wide range of both white and red wines. Lamy-Pillot wines are characterized by being very rich wines with a luscious texture. In the nose floral tones, ripe fruit and a refined touch of wood. The same aromas are reflected in the taste. The fine acidity gives the whole extra complexity. The wines of Domaine Lamy-Pillot now also belong to the very scarce Bourgognes with high ratings from the international wine press year-in-year-out.
