Description
In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, got married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT family traces its origins back to the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot winery is a family domain that works on 20 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today, the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are currently responsible for the vinification. Florence received her training in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to their training, they both completed many internships, both at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998.
The 1er Cru Morgeot comes from a Premier Cru vineyard that is 2.08 ha in size. The vineyard was planted in 1971 and is located on a limestone plateau which gives the typical minerality, but also for an ideal water management in both wet and dry periods.
Deep and powerful, this Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru, Morgeot reveals all the characteristics of a great white wine, spicy and perfect for ageing. The plot stands out for its slope, up to 25%, the steepest in the area. This favours drainage and fruit concentration. It is mainly located in the "Petits Clos" sector, in the great "Morgeot" climate, with shallow soils, which are among the most limestone-rich.
The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse. If you come to pick up the wine, you will often receive a nice discount. You will see the discount immediately when you choose to pick up on our checkout page. We are located almost next to the Rijksweg with plenty of parking. You can find our address here.

In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the outskirts of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT family traces its origins back to the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot wine estate is a family estate that works on 17 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin.
Today the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are now responsible for the vinification. Florence was educated in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to the training, they both completed many internships, at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998. Karine and her husband Daniel are responsible for sales and administration.
This real family domain has more than 20 hectares of vineyards and with this they make a wide range of both white and red wines. Lamy-Pillot wines are characterized by being very rich wines with a luscious texture. In the nose floral tones, ripe fruit and a refined touch of wood. The same aromas are reflected in the taste. The fine acidity gives the whole extra complexity. The wines of Domaine Lamy-Pillot now also belong to the very scarce Bourgognes with high ratings from the international wine press year-in-year-out.
