The Syrah vineyards are located in the northern part and on the right bank of the Côtes du Rhône region in the Saint-Joseph appellation. The vines are planted on terraces in granite soil. The Cave de Tain Esprit de Granit Saint-Joseph is aged for 18 months in new 400-liter barrels (25%), second-year barrels (35%), third-year barrels (30%), and fourth-year barrels (10%).

The Cave de Tain Esprit de Granit Saint-Joseph has a deep, brilliant garnet color in the glass with aromas of ripe black fruit, oriental spices, and licorice, yet retains the appellation's characteristic freshness. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, typical of granite soil. The tannins are very fine, and the finish is remarkably persistent and elegant.

ABOUT CAVE DE TAIN

Undoubtedly the top in the Hermitage and Crozes Hermitage regions. In the Cave de Tain, approximately 370 farmers are united in a company with vision, a passion for quality, and a keen eye for the market. They are leading in the northern Rhône, accounting for over 50% of the production. The vineyards are located on both the right bank (St. Joseph, Cornas, and St. Peray) and the left bank (Crozes Hermitage and Hermitage) of the Rhône, and are within a maximum of 20 kilometers of the Cave. For many international winemakers, the wines produced here are the benchmark for their Syrah production. The crown jewels of the company are its own vineyards on Mount Hermitage. The steeply terraced vineyards with granite soils bring out the best in the Syrah grape. International ratings of between 90 and 100 points are "normal" for these wines. Cave de Tain owns a whopping 25% of this unique wine-growing region. Read more in the Tab: Winery

On the left bank of the Rhône, between Lyon and Valence, the Hermitage hill dominates the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. From north to south, the vineyards of Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Saint-Péray spread out on terraces, on the right bank.
On their five cru vineyards, such as in Collines Rhodaniennes, the winegrowers of the Cave de Tain l'Hermitage offer an unparalleled variety of vineyard plantations, with access to all terroirs.
